  Introduction
  A law of Russian Federation forms specific system, the largest components of which are called the laws’ branches. The subject and the method of legal regulation are usually used as the criteria of the differentiation of the law’s branches. Thus, it is possible with their help not only to single out the civil law from the united system of Russian law, but also to reveal its peculiarities.
  Being the branch of law civil one corresponds to the body laws which are internally organized on the principles of unity and differentiation. From the one hand it regulates property relations which are based on the equality, the party autonomy and the property independence of participants, and in the cases, expressly provided by the current legislation, and on the power of subordination of one side to another. From the other hand it regulates relating to property or not private non-property relations which are based on the equality, the party autonomy and the property independence of participants, if another does not escape from the essence of these relations.
  2. Principles and the function of the civil law
  
  2.1. Concept of the principles of the civil law
  
  By legal principles is understood directive, idea of basic sources of law, which express objective regularities, tendencies and needs of the social development, which determine the essence of entire system, branch or the institute of the laws, fixed within the standards of the current legislation and which have in view of their legal fastening obligatory value.
  The civil law of any country, including Russia, has its principles, by which are understood the basic beginnings, which characterize the system of civil relationships, determining basis of their structures and developments.
  The leading role of civil law is caused also by the whole set of those principles, on which it is based. The principles of civil law are tightly connected with the methods of legal regulation, the principles of branch, and its basic beginnings.
  The principles of civil law - these are fixed in the legal acts obligatory positions, ideas, the beginnings, which pierce through entire civil law; they express tendencies of development and need of society and characterize civil law in whole. The basic beginnings (principles) of civil law are named in sec. 1 of CC.
