My full name is Guselnikov Andrey Vladimirovich, and I was born on September 15, 2004, in the city of Samara, which is located in the Russian Federation. Currently, I still live in my hometown of Samara, and I find it an engaging, diverse place that has shaped my personality, dreams, and aspirations. I am a first-year student pursuing a degree in Law, driven by my fascination with the legal system and my desire to contribute to society by upholding justice. My journey so far has been filled with both challenges and successes, and I am grateful for all the experiences that have led me to where I am today.
Throughout my childhood, I was fortunate enough to receive a robust education that laid a strong foundation for my current studies. I attended a local high school known for its rigorous academic curriculum and emphasis on extracurricular activities. From an early age, I found that I was drawn to reading, researching, and unraveling complex topics, whether in history, literature, or social sciences. This curiosity made me a frequent visitor to the school library, where I would spend countless hours poring over textbooks, scholarly articles, and novels of various genres. In addition to my love for reading, I discovered that I had a knack for public speaking. Participating in school debates, delivering presentations, and taking part in Model United Nations competitions helped me develop the kind of confidence and articulation that I believe are essential qualities for any aspiring lawyer.
My decision to pursue Law was primarily motivated by the desire to help others navigate complicated legal systems. It occurred to me that the best way to make a positive impact on people’s lives was by standing up for those who might not be able to stand up for themselves. Another motivating factor was witnessing several real-life cases where the law served as a powerful tool in protecting individuals, guaranteeing rights, and ensuring a fair trial. These events awakened my sense of responsibility toward justice and my understanding that with the right knowledge and motivation, I could do my part to uphold the principles of equality. By immersing myself in my law program, I hope to become well-versed in legal procedures, frameworks, and jurisprudence, eventually gaining the ability to practice law professionally.
Beyond my academic life, my hobbies and interests provide me with a much-needed creative and emotional outlet. One of my favorite pastimes is playing the guitar. Music has always been close to my heart because it can evoke so many powerful emotions. I took formal guitar lessons for a couple of years, but I mostly enjoy jamming with friends and learning new songs on my own by watching tutorial videos or reading music sheets online. Playing music helps me relax and momentarily escape from the academic pressures that come with studying Law.
Another hobby I deeply cherish is reading. While many people might assume that the only thing a law student reads is legal jargon, I actually dive into many different literary genres, including science fiction, psychological thrillers, and historical novels. I believe that exploring diverse kinds of literature broadens my perspective and teaches me empathy and understanding. It also hones my analytical skills, as I learn to interpret characters, plots, and thematic concerns, which translates surprisingly well into understanding legal cases.
