  Personality is a complex notion defining how we act and interact with the world. This notion is fully studied in the modern psychology. But still there are a lot of black spaces in this sphere. Some theorists think that people get personality during their life and in their environment. Other researchers state that personality is fixed from birth. The third theories prove that personality is influenced by genetics and culture.
  Consequently, the theme of the present paper is very topical nowadays.
  The aim of the present work is to examine the problem of personality theories.

  1. Personality and history of its study in psychology
  
  The term “personality” has several different meanings. This notion is studied in the special branch of academic psychology which grasps a wide range of different and often contradictory theoretical theories. Science of personality called personology is a discipline fundamental for better understanding of human individuality by means of usage of different research strategies .
  Personality is an abstract notion which unites many aspects characterized human beings including emotions, thoughts, motives, feelings, comprehension and actions. But it would be a mistake to reduce the notion of personality only to one of its aspects, because conceptual meaning of personality is many-sided. It grasps a wide range of the inner psychological processes which stipulate humans’ behavior in the given situation.
  According to ambiguousness and complexity of the notion, it is impossible to reveal the unique definition of the term “personality” in scientific literature. There are as many definitions of the term, as many psychologists investigating this problem.
