  Introduction
  
  Poetry and prose are two main types of the art of writing which differentiate from each other by the means of organization of literary text. The main peculiarity of poetry is its rhythmical organization. This rhythmical organization helps to create sleazy nuances of literary style.
  Many Russian and foreign researches are interested today in the study of the style of English poetry. It is known that poetry keenly represents all the diversity and complicity of the epoch, the evolution of literature and society, political, ideological and cultural changing in society. Accordingly, investigation of the style of poetry on the material of an English speaking poet is very actual.
  The actuality of the choice of material for investigation (poetry of William Butler Yeats) can be explained by the fact that the poetry style of this poet combines the features of many literary movements of 19th century. In relation to this fact, we can speak about poetry of William Butler Yeats as about many-sided and multifaceted lyrics.

  1.1 Prose and poetry, their differences
  
  In order to analyze the main differences between prose and poetry, let’s define these notions. According to “Merriam-Webster's Encyclopedia of Literature”, poetry is a metrical writing; the productions of a poet; writing that formulates a concentrated imaginative awareness of experience in language chosen and arranged to create a specific emotional response through its meaning, sound, and rhythm [1995: 893]. The definition of prose is the following:
  Prose is a literary medium distinguished from poetry especially by its greater irregularity and variety of rhythm and its closer correspondence to the patterns of everyday speech [Merriam-Webster's Encyclopedia…, 1995: 910].
  Consequently, the words "poetry" and "prose" seem to be antagonists, i.e. antonyms. The main differentiating feature of poetry is, of course, its orderly form which is based on the rhythmic and phonetic arrangement of the utterances. As opposed to prose, poetry is characterized by division of poetic text into short abstracts which are related and comparable to each other. ...........
