  Introduction
  
  The English language is one of the most interesting, colorful and complex languages. It hides many lexical and grammatical points that we can analyze during our whole life. The language means and ways of expressing unreal actions, wishes, desires and preferences can be considered the most unpredictable linguistic problem that can be put near the idioms and phraseological units.
  The silent existence of the variety of ways of expressing wishes, desires and unreal actions in English gave me the thought of analyzing the problem of the correct use and recognizing of different ways of expression. The comparison between the earlier and the new ways of expressing unreal actions, wishes, desires and preferences may be based on the technical development, neologisms in English language or the tendency to simplify the ways of expression in day-to-day life.
  The primarily aim of this paper is to develop the comprehension of different language means and ways of expressing unreal actions, wishes, desires and preferences in English language, to compare and analyze them. In order to compare the respective language means in both English and Russian languages it is necessary to know more about their peculiar use. The theory helps to find out the general information, but the practical examples help to understand the situations when these language means can be applicable. The discovery of the world of unreal actions, wishes and desires helps to know more about the language and to develop the expressing of thoughts using special vocabulary.
