  1.1 Empathy and Politeness as the Components of Speech Etiquette
  
  In the process of interpersonal communication in different spheres (politics, economics, social interaction, etc.) people obey special rules and tradition of speech etiquette in order to avoid conflicts and misunderstandings. English professional discourse of different types, as well as Russian, is peculiar for its high conventionality. It is expressed in fixed standard models of verbal behavior of communicators which are ritualized in some discourses up to a certain consequence of speech actions. Consequently, the communicators are often limited in the choice of language means used by them in the process of communication.
  These certain rules of verbal behavior of people during interpersonal communication are nominated as the norms of etiquette. The notion “etiquette” in its broad meaning is defined as “the set of rules or customs that control accepted behaviour in particular social groups or social situations” [Cambridge 2008].
  Nevertheless, the notion “etiquette” is very broad and includes norms of both non-verbal (behavioural) and verbal communication.
